Every rate, bracket, and threshold on Solvent is checked against the IRS and the Social Security Administration. When a guide covers a state's rules, the figure is checked against that state's tax agency and cited on the page.

The calculators cover federal tax only. None of them work out state tax.

Each calculator lists its sources and shows an Updated date. When a calculation simplifies something, the page says so.

The IRS and Social Security publish the next year's figures each fall, usually in October or November. Solvent updates when they do. Every page shows the date it was last updated.

A new figure goes up only once the IRS or Social Security has published it.

Spot a mistake? Report it with the form below. It gets fixed, with a dated note on the page.

The note goes at the bottom of the page and says what changed.

The calculators run in your browser. The numbers you type are never sent to Solvent, to Google or to anyone else. No server receives them, so Solvent has nothing to store or share.

Solvent counts page visits with Google Analytics. Analytics records the page you looked at, your rough location, your browser, and the site that sent you. Google Analytics never sees what you type into a calculator.

You can turn analytics off in the footer. Solvent also honors Global Privacy Control automatically. The privacy policy has the full details.

The tools are free and will stay free. Some guides link to products, and Solvent may earn a commission if you sign up through one of those links.

Commissions don't change which tools a guide recommends or what the calculators show. Any page with one of those links says so at the top of the page.

Solvent gives educational estimates to help you plan. The estimates aren't tax, legal, or investment advice. Solvent doesn't know your full situation the way a CPA or an enrolled agent would.
